Connecting Local Food
to Local People
What's it all about?
FoodLink NE connects communities in Aberdeen City and Shire with sustainably produced food by supporting local producers, strengthening direct customer links, and promoting short supply chains. We aim to improve everyday access to nutritious food while delivering social, economic, and environmental benefits.
A passionate team of local growers and partners are leading this exciting project as a collaboration between The James Hutton Institute, Fair Food Aberdeenshire, NESCAN, members of The Landworkers Alliance, and The Mixing Bowl Aberdeen. Many months of informal conversations culminated in the formation of a working group and by May 2024 the team had started to map out the scope of the project in a comprehensive study.

The Online Marketplace

FoodLink NE is currently running a trial of a new online marketplace serving a select group of direct and wholesale customers. We aim to expand the service further in 2026.

How to get involved
We are keen to collaborate with farmers, producers, makers, and independent retailers in the area. In addition, we welcome contact from individuals and communities passionate about forging stronger connections with local producers and encourage you to get in touch.
Get involved and be part of this exciting movement towards a more sustainable and resilient local food system.
We look forward to hearing from you. Please email foodlinkne@gmail.com or subscribe HERE to stay up to date with our news.
